Biographical Notes:
Robert Murphy has been teaching at ENC since 2002 starting out as a business adjunct professor in the AGS program and hired as a full time assistant professor in the business program in 2015 leaving Corporate America after 30 years. He has also taught at Massasoit Community College, Bristol Community College and Newbury College as a business adjunct professor.
Robert has spent 30 years in Corporate America in various business positions in the Environmental Industry with Laidlaw Environmental, Waste Management, Browning Ferris Industries; Financial Industry with Putnam Investments, New York Life Investment Management, Investors Bank & Trust; Technology Industry with British Telecom; Music Industry with many entrepreneurial ventures and as a musician in wedding, corporate, church and club bands; and lastly, Higher Education. He has a strong passion and commitment to return to his alumni and give back to ENC through teaching and administrative work.
Robert is a faculty advisor for the Business Society, Investment Club and Rotaract Club and still continues to teach in the AGS undergraduate & graduate program and works as a thesis advisor for the Masters in Management students. He is the division chair of the AGS program, the program chair of the traditional business department and the program director of the AGS Graduate and Thesis Program.

Fun Facts:
Robert belongs to the First Baptist Church in Westminster, MA where he and his family live on Wyman’s pond. He and Shelley have 5 children and 4 grandchildren. They enjoy sporadic cultural family vacations, RV’ing, annual weekly vacation at Hampton Beach with extended family and have made it a goal to see every state. So far they have been to 32 states together with the children/grandchildren slowly catching up. They also enjoy antiquing and repurposing to the extent their house could be a vintage showcase and they are currently building a house across the street where they hope to have family visit and stay and share with their church (they have hosted baptisms on the lake).They also have Boston Bruins season tickets and try to attend about 15 games a year with immediate and extended family members and friends. Robert also enjoys playing music as a bass player and singer for over 30 years in many well-known local bands with recent passions for Country music and Christian music. He also is the treasurer of the Wyman’s Lake Association in Westminster, MA.
