As a student who commutes, you are important to us. At ENC, we will support you along every step of your journey, and ensure that you are experiencing everything that our entire community has to offer to make ENC your home away from home.
Our Commuter Services are dedicated to connecting you with resources to enhance your college experience. There are so many opportunities that we encourage you to get involved in within our community life! You can participate in commuter council events, ministry teams, varsity athletics, intramurals, social events, and much more!
I made the most of being a commuter at ENC by making it a second home. I would arrange my time accordingly to go to school events and hang out with friends I’ve already made who are residential. The reality is if you go to these events with an open mind, then you can close that gap between residential students and commuter students. Once I made friends on campus, it opened up a whole new ENC experience for me. I was invited into the dorms and other areas commuters don’t initially have knowledge about. I became so active on campus that people thought I lived there. Truthfully, in my opinion, that’s how you make ENC your second home. My advice is to put yourself out there and actively seek out opportunities to make friends, go to sports games and other events. It’s a time commitment, but we get to decide what our college experience will become.
Commuter students have a dedicated lounge located inside the Mann Student Center to do homework in between classes, eat lunch, or simply just relax. There are also lockers available free of charge. To register for one, contact the Student Life Office at sdo.enc.edu.
Located inside the Mann Student Center, Hebrews Café offers Starbucks coffee products. Choose from hot beverages, cold beverages, pastries, cookies, bottled juices, and more.
The Dugout is a grill and snack bar located in the Mann Student Center offering soups, salads, sandwiches, subs, pizza, burgers, hot and cold beverages, and much more.
As a commuter student, you have a student ID that can be formatted to allow access into campus buildings. This includes Nease Library, Spange, Munro, and Underground Parlors, and Lahue Gymnasium. Commuter students are subject to the same hours in campus facilities (including lounges) as resident students.
No car? No problem! Our campus is less than a mile away from the Wollaston MBTA Station.
I appreciated how train accessible ENC is with how close it is to Wollaston station, allowing me to get in and out of Boston easily. I felt especially accommodated driving to school as well with there being so much parking space on campus and the fact that my professors were flexible and considerate of the challenges commuters face with early morning traffic.
