Biographical Notes
Dr. Waterman has been a faculty member at ENC since 1999 and teaches courses such as Introduction to Cell Biology and Genetics, Biochemistry, Cancer Biology and Microbiology. Prior to coming to ENC, Dr. Waterman taught in the General Biology Lab at the University of Pennsylvania, and was a Research Fellow in Medicine at Harvard Medical School, where he completed his Post-doc. He has coauthored numerous research papers which have been published in such journals as Cancer Research and Nature Genetics. When he is not teaching at ENC you can find him working as a visiting scientist with the Talkowski laboratory in the Center for Genomic Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Waterman’s research is focused on elucidating disrupted chromatin interactions and other genomic alterations associated with neurological diseases such as autism and developing high resolution sequencing approaches for genetic diagnostics.
