Update on the 2022 Alumni Directory Project
Please read this important update from Kristen Wilson, Executive Director of Advancement & External Relations.
Hello fellow Alumni,
As you have probably heard by now we are in the process of attempting to update our alumni contact information. The Alumni Office had partnered with a third party vendor (Publishing Concepts or PCI) to help us with the research and to manage the communication process with our 24,000+ alumni.
The postcard you recently received was their first communication. Unfortunately, due to an error on their part alumni names were not merged correctly with addresses. We apologize for any confusion or concern this may have caused. Please be assured that it was not a scam or phishing attempt. If you did call the number and update your information, it is secure and would not be used for any purpose other than our alumni update.
I am also letting you know that we will NOT be moving forward with the project at this time. It has come to my attention that the sales tactics being used are not congruent with our mission and expectations of how ENC should be represented. Let me be clear…we did not pay anything to contract the services, nor did we receive any compensation for providing the information that we have on file. If you have already contacted the company and purchased any product you will be refunded. If you receive any further contact from the company, please disregard or delete the message.
I pray that you will extend us grace as we do our best to remedy an unfortunate situation. I am hoping you will also consider clicking the link and updating your contact information, even if you believe it is correct. Currently, out of 19,318 alumni records that are “living and contactable” we have…
- No email or bad email for 8,333 (43%) – please help us reach out to anyone who may fall into that category as they are not receiving this message.
- Known bad addresses for over 3 thousand – if you received a postcard please do not assume we have the correct address. It may be that PCI found your current address in their research. If you did not receive our Homecoming postcard, we do not have your current address.
- No phone number or incorrect phone numbers for more than we can count – if you no longer have a home phone number, there is a great chance that we do not have a current phone number for you.
Perhaps the silver lining will be that we are able to update many of your records without the help of an outside vendor. You can help us accomplish that goal by clicking below to update your information and by reaching out to fellow alumni who may not have email to encourage them to call us to update their information.
Sorry for the long message, I wanted to be clear and thorough in this communication. As always, we really appreciate all of our alumni prayers and support as we strive to fulfill our mission during some challenging times for all small colleges. We are looking forward to welcoming our new freshman class in one month and embarking on another exciting year of life and learning here at ENC.
In Him,
Kristen M Wilson ’92
