Where should I direct my gift?
Donors looking to help fulfill our greatest needs can make an Unrestricted gift or a gift to the ENC Fund. Monthly and annual giving equips ENC to direct our resources to areas or programs with vital need.
If you prefer, we welcome you to direct your giving to class scholarships, academic areas, athletics, or any other listed designation. To learn more about designations available, please visit What to Support.
Will my gift make a difference?
Yes! All gifts, regardless of size, help ENC cover expenses for budgeted scholarships and programs. Your contribution is a significant source of support that impacts our students today, and in the future. We are grateful for your kindness to us! To give one-time or set up a monthly gift, please visit online giving.
Why should I become an ENC Society member?
There are many reasons to join the ENC Society. Your support helps create a “culture of giving” at ENC and inspires others to give. As a “thank you” for your commitment, you will receive special benefits as a member, along with unique periodic communications from ENC. Members of the ENC Society are invited to participate in the community through ENC student and alumni stories, and invitations to campus events throughout the year. ENC Society members enjoy fellowship together and times of camaraderie.
Annual membership in the ENC Society is established by donors who commit to support the college at a level of $1,000 or more on an annual basis (based upon ENC’s fiscal year, July 1 to June 30). The annual commitment may be met through one single gift, or several smaller gifts totaling $1,000+. Membership is reaffirmed each year. If you gave years before, please feel welcome to begin again with a gift this year! Lifetime membership is recognized for those who have given a lifetime total of at least $100,000.
What are the tax benefits of making a gift to ENC?
Eastern Nazarene College is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Your gift to ENC is tax-deductible, as allowed by the law. A receipt will be provided to you, documenting your gift.
How may I update my contact information?
Alumni are invited to update their contact information here. Parents, donors and friends of the college, are welcome to email development@enc.edu, and note “Update Contact Information” in the subject line.
How do I know if my company matches gifts?
Please visit enc.edu/match to determine if your employer offers matching gifts. You may also check with your organization’s Human Resources office.
Is there a need for more scholarship support at ENC?
Yes! While a college education – especially in a Christian environment such as ENC – is a critically important investment, it is an expensive one. A large portion of our student body come from families who have limited resources, such as those whose parents or caretakers are pastors, missionaries, and teachers. As a result, 100% of our undergraduate students receive some form of financial assistance.
What are the steps to set up a scholarship at ENC?
- To create an endowed scholarship at ENC, please contact the Development Office at (866) 480-2291 or development@enc.edu.
- An informational packet will be sent to you with a Scholarship Worksheet for you to complete.
- Once we have received the Scholarship Worksheet, and an initial gift has been made (see Time Frame for Funding below), the parameters will be recorded within your Scholarship Agreement. Two copies of the Scholarship Agreement will be sent to you – one to sign and return to ENC, the other to keep for your files.
- After ENC receives your signed Scholarship Agreement, the parameters will be entered into our database, and Financial Aid will be notified the scholarship is established.
Time Frame for Funding a Scholarship Endowment
- An initial gift of $2,500 is required when the Scholarship Worksheet is submitted to begin the endowment process (or several initial gifts totaling $2,500).
- At that time, an account will be created and a name will be designated to the Scholarship Fund.
- The remaining balance of $22,500 must be paid within five (5) years of the Scholarship Worksheet.
- If during the endowment process, it becomes impossible to reach the $25,000 mark, the donor will notify Eastern Nazarene College.
- If the scholarship does not reach $25,000 within five (5) years of the Scholarship Worksheet, the funds will either be folded into a scholarship of similar nature or into a non-endowed current scholarship. A list of similar scholarships and criteria may be provided to the donor upon request.
Determining the Award Amount for a Scholarship Endowment
- Once the scholarship reaches $25,000, the investment policy implemented by the Board of Trustees states it must sit one full fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) before the scholarship may be awarded.
- For subsequent years, the scholarship endowment is allocated growth determined by the market value of invested funds, subject to the performance of the investments. Note the growth amount is not necessarily equal to the award amount.
