Salvation Army Hosts Christmas Distribution at Eastern Nazarene College

Dec 22, 2023

QUINCY – Eastern Nazarene College joyfully hosted the Salvation Army of Quincy on campus this past Wednesday, Dec. 20, and Thursday, Dec. 21 for the organization’s annual holiday outreach.

Due to the community’s generosity, the Salvation Army of Quincy’s annual holiday effort had outgrown its previous facilities and the administration at the College was glad to provide the space for this important community outreach. Dr. Tim Eades, Eastern Nazarene College’s new vice president of enrollment shared, “I have only been part of ENC since October, but in these early days of my time with the College, I have been so grateful to see the faculty, staff, and students live out our mission of hospitality and service to others in the name of Christ. It’s an honor to partner with the Salvation Army and have them on our campus to serve the local community.”

This year, the Salvation Army of Quincy distributed holiday food boxes to 428 area households. In addition to food, there were toys gifted to the children of Quincy. Each year, businesses and organizations across Quincy join together to ensure the event’s success. In addition to the College, the Quincy Stop and Shop gave considerable time and effort to packaging food boxes for community members, the Quincy Police Department managed traffic, and many volunteers gave their time to help valuable members of our beloved community.
