New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation (NSO) is a program designed to help new students transition into the ENC community. NSO at ENC is comprised of two components: our summer orientation on June 21 and 22, and our August orientation beginning Saturday, August 31. On this page you will find directions to campus, event schedules, local hotels, the new student checklist, and other important resources to help parents and students prepare for NSO.

August Orientation

Stay up-to-date with the schedule, event locations, and important information throughout your NSO experience by downloading the ENC orientation and welcome week schedule through the Guidebook app through your iOS or Android App Store.

You can also view the welcome week content and the NSO Saturday & Sunday Schedule here in your web browser.

August orientation is required for all new students, including transfers and commuters. New Student Orientation will provide you with knowledge of the campus, a sense of belonging in the community through connecting with new and returning students, and an opportunity to engage campus resources during your first few days on campus. Students unable to attend June Orientation will meet with their advisor and complete their course schedule. Families and guests are invited and encouraged to participate in NSO along with their student. Check out the ENC New Student Guide for 2019.

Summer Orientation is packed with events, meetings, and activities for both new students and their families. During this important weekend you will have the opportunity to register for classes, meet with their academic advisor, and participate in campus activities. Students are invited to spend the night in our residence halls to get a feel for campus life. Linens and towels are provided. Further information, such as what to pack and how to prepare, will be sent as the event approaches.

Parents and guardians are invited to attend Summer Orientation to participate in our guardian sessions.
