Freshman Aid

ENC awards annual scholarships in recognition of a student’s academic achievement prior to enrollment at Eastern Nazarene College. Awards are determined at the time a freshman enters college and will establish the maximum academic award for that student during his/her time at ENC. A student must qualify as an incoming freshman in order to receive an academic scholarship. The table below names the scholarships and amounts, and it lists the requirements for freshmen. If you would like to submit your test score in order to qualify for an academic scholarship (or a higher level of academic scholarship), we will accept test scores through the April national test date. We will not award academic scholarship increases for tests completed after the April national test date. Note that the ACT score referenced below is reflective of a composite score. We do not super score the ACT. The old SAT test scores referenced below are based on Critical Reading plus Math (CR+M). We do not count the writing score as a part of the SAT composite score. The new restructured SAT (RSAT) is based on a total score of English Based Reading & Writing (EBRW) plus Math. Should you have questions, please email or call us at 617-745-3870.

Annual awards are distributed in two equal payments. A student may receive only one academic scholarship per semester. Institutional scholarships at ENC can be applied only to tuition, fees, room and meal plan and can never generate a credit balance. Institutional scholarships require a minimum load of twelve hours each semester and will not be awarded beyond eight full-time semesters. No institutional scholarships will be given for external academic programming in which no tuition is paid to ENC. The academic scholarships will be renewed in the fall semester of each academic year provided the student maintains the required renewed GPA. Students who lose their original award level due to their GPA, may regain their award level in the future if they can raise their cumulative GPA to the required level.

All students are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for Institutional scholarships at ENC.

Students submitting an SAT test score received prior to March 2016 will be awarded academic scholarships based on their Critical Reading and Math (CR+M) score. We do not count the writing score. If you have any questions, please contact us at or call us at 617-745-3870.
