Biographical Notes

  • Paulo and his family have strong ties to ENC that span multiple generations. Paulo earned his Bachelor degree in Social Work from Eastern Nazarene College and his Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling and School Adjustment Counseling from Cambridge College.  He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and has a private practice located in Brockton, MA.  He currently teaches in both the undergraduate and graduate programs and serves as the Clinical Director for the M.S. program in Marriage and Family Therapy.

    Prior to coming to ENC, Paulo worked as a Protective Services Social Worker for the City of Boston, a Conflict Resolution and Mediation Specialist and  as a School Adjustment Counselor in an urban public school district in Southeastern Massachusetts.  While working as a SAC he founded and served as director and group facilitator of The Peaceful Coalition, a gang prevention and intervention program for high-risk gang-affiliated youth.  The program was the recipient of several awards, honors, and recognition.

    Paulo is fluent in Portuguese, Capeverdean Creole and Spanish.
