About the book:
Straight Answers to Genuine Questions
Karl W. Giberson & Francis S. Collins
Christians affirm that God created everything-from subatomic quarks to black holes. Science, however, often claims to explain nature without reference to God. And thoughtful Christians often feel forced to choose between the two.
Read Karl’s blog about the purpose of “The Language of Science and Faith” (pdf).
Karl W. Giberson (Ph.D.) is a leading voice in America’s creation-evolution controversy and the author or coauthor of five books on science and religion, including Oracles of Science: Celebrity Scientists Versus God and Religion (with Mariano Artigas), Species of Origins: America’s Search for a Creation Story (with Donald Yerxa) and Saving Darwin: How to Be a Christian and Believe in Evolution, which was included in the Washington Post’s “Best Books of 2008” list.
Giberson teaches science and religion and directs the honors program at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Mass. He is vice president of The BioLogos Foundation and has published more than 150 articles, reviews and essays. He blogs regularly at The Huffington Post.
Francis S. Collins (M.D., Ph.D.) is a world-renowned physician-geneticist known for his discovery of the causes of many human genetic diseases. He led the Human Genome Project, which produced the first complete sequence of human DNA in 2003. In 2006 Collins published The Language of God: A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief, which spent twenty weeks on the New York Times bestseller list. In 2007, he founded The BioLogos Foundation to respond to the many queries he receives about science and faith.
Since August 2009, Collins has directed the National Institutes of Health. His most recent books include The Language of Life: DNA and the Revolution in Personalized Medicine and Belief: Readings on the Reason for Faith.
