As previously communicated, the Board of Trustees has engaged the search firm CarterBaldwin Executive Search to assist with the Presidential Search. Their team and the Presidential Search Committee (PSC) have been encouraged by the high level of interest and the number of potential candidates that strongly align with the criteria for the role. CarterBaldwin’s initial work moved the process from hundreds of perspective candidates to dozens of vetted applicants. The search process is tracking well within the project timeline for the committee to present a candidate to the Board of Trustees.
At the conclusion of 2022, CarterBaldwin completed the initial vetting of candidates and presented a robust, diverse slate of dozens of applicants to the PSC. The committee met in-person last week and narrowed the talented applicant pool to a group of semi-finalists. The initial much larger slate and eventual smaller group were filled with men and women similar in their strong and diverse testimonies of salvation and faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They were united in Christ and diverse in age, sex, race, ethnicity, geography, and lived experiences.
We promised confidentiality to the candidates; however, we can pass along adjectives descriptive of the semi-finalists such as impressive, passionate, hearts for Christian higher education, skilled, humble, confident, and desirous of applying God-given abilities and skills for His work.
Over the next two months, the PSC will continue to work to identify and discern a group of finalists then a final candidate to present to the Board of Trustees in Spring 2023.
Please do not ask committee members for names of candidates or recounts of deliberations neither now nor after the process. We keep our promises. As we used to say, “Word is bond.”
