The Physics and Engineering Department is proud to announce that we are a LabVIEW Academy. The Eastern Nazarene College LabVIEW Academy program provides our students with a classroom curriculum that supports both credit and noncredit courses. The Eastern Nazarene College LabVIEW Academy is for anyone seeking LabVIEW education and knowledge over the course of a semester. After completing our LabVIEW Academy program, our students have the opportunity, knowledge, and tools to take the National Instrument (NI) Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD) exam in order to become a NI CLAD. The NI CLAD status endows our students with a broad working knowledge of the LabVIEW environment, a basic understanding of coding and documentation best practices, and the ability to read and interpret existing code. This certification is frequently used by companies to assess and validate an individual’s LabVIEW development skills for the purpose of project staffing or career advancement. This recognition by National Instrument and the related training it provides will prepare our students to effectively compete in the corporate sector and to help them pursue higher degrees in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics and other related fields.
Dr. Cornely is very excited for this new undertaking by the Physics and Engineering Department, “I personally think that this is a significant achievement for Our Department which is in line with our commitment to introduce our students to Undergraduate Research very early on in their careers. With the set of Software Development skills acquired from our LabVIEW Academy courses and the many applications of the LabVIEW Hardware technology from Electronics and Circuits Design to Applied Digital Signal Processing, Control Systems, Robotics, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing and Social Enterprising, our students will stand at the forefront of the upcoming exciting areas of Research and Development in the new millenium.”
National Instruments (NI) is one of the world’s leading providers of software and hardware for measurement and control. LabVIEW Academy is an internationally recognized curriculum created by National Instruments and Eastern Nazarene College is proud to beone of thefirstacademic institutionsin Massachusetts to offer this program.
