Ranked No. 10 in the NCAA New England Regional Rankings, the Eastern Nazarene College softball team clinched its second-straight New England Collegiate Conference title with a 7-1 win over Lesley May 9. With the win, the Lions booked a spot in the NCAA Tournament and will learn their opening game opponent and destination on Monday, May 17 as the NCAA Tournament Selection Show airs at 1:00 PM on NCAA.com.
Jennelle Munoz was named the NECC Pitcher of the Year and Rookie of the Year while also garnering NECC Tournament MVP honors as well as NFCA National Pitcher of the Week accolades.
Six student-athletes were named to the All-NECC first team this spring. Joining Munoz on the All-NECC first team were Aurora Adams, Taylor Brandt, Rebecca Hayner, Bailey Olaveson, and Alex Schwenger. Adams and Brandt were also selected to the NECC All-Tournament Team.
The Lions boast a 24-5 overall record this spring and locked up the NECC regular-season title with a 14-4 league record.
