Eastern Nazarene College announced the hiring of Marion Mason as Dean of Students within the Division of Student Development on Tuesday, April 22. Mr. Mason will begin on June 30, 2014 and will supervise student conduct, residence life, and policy development.
Marion Mason has served at Northeastern University since 2006 and has over 10 years of Higher Education experience working in student affairs, athletics, and academics. Mason has a deep passion for creating environments that optimize student learning and development. He is a skilled Student Affairs administrator with rich experience in departmental planning and management, cross-divisional learning initiatives, and facilitating the professional development of his colleagues. Mason currently serves as the Assistant Director for Student Leadership and Global Engagement at the John D. O’Bryant African-American Institute at Northeastern University.
In addition to his time at Northeastern, Mason has enjoyed positions at Georgetown University, Liberty University, and several non-profit and public sector organizations. Mason has a wealth of experience in the community, consulting, conducting camps, working in various community-based organizations and pastoral ministry. He graduated with a BA in Government and Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. He holds Master’s degrees in Public Administration and Non-Profit Management from George Mason University and Religion (Christian Leadership) from Liberty University, and is currently enrolled in the Doctorate of Education program at Northeastern University.
