Eastern Nazarene College will host the New England regional fair trade conference, to be held Saturday, Sept. 17 on the East Elm campus.
More than 100 attendees from Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Rhode Island as well as northern New York are expected to attend the conference, which is being organized by Fair Trade Campaigns in collaboration with ENC HOPE (Help and Options for Prevention of Exploitation), a campus initiative that seeks to prevent all forms of exploitation, including human trafficking and unfair labor practices.
“ENC students care passionately about making a difference in this world by putting their faith into action,” said Keri Lewis, assistant dean for community life. “We are currently working with Fair Trade USA in order to become a fair trade campus, and we are thrilled to host this event that will bring together regional leaders to explore ways of implementing fair trade practices across New England.”
The conference registration fee is $30 general admission and $20 for students; those who register by Aug. 5 will receive a $10 discount. To register or for more information, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/new-england-regional-conference-tickets-26250617303 .
