Mailroom Supervisor (Part Time)
Eastern Nazarene College, a fully accredited Christian liberal arts college on Boston’s south shore, is seeking a part time Mailroom Supervisor (20 hours) to support the work of the ENC Mailroom by providing student-centered services that foster the growth and development of ENC students in a manner consistent with the College’s Mission, Vision, and Defining Values. You will provide primary oversight of the mailroom, facilitating hiring, training, and supervision for student staff, and mail operations in accordance with U.S. Postal regulations. This position reports to the Assistant Dean for Community Life and works in accordance with the mission, core Christian values, and purposes of the College.
Hours are subject to change, but are generally M-F, 9am-1pm.
Part-Time Hourly Staff
- Handle all functions of the mailroom, maintaining knowledge of postal and federal policies, statutes, procedures and regulations.
- Ensure mail is delivered to the proper recipient in a timely manner and in good condition.
- Schedule and oversee mail pickup/drop off with the local post office, and deliveries to campus offices including First Class mail, small packages, memos, and interdepartmental mail at least once a day.
- Regular weekly meetings with the Assistant Dean for Community Life.
- Recommend changes to mail services policies and procedures to Assistant Dean. Maintain policy and procedural manuals for mailroom operations. Inform mailroom staff of changes made to policies and procedures.
- Hire and train new employees on mail room operation, protocols and mail machine operation.
- Create a safe working environment. Craft mailroom hours and schedule employees per the needs of the business, opening for extended hours during all special campus events including New Student Orientation.
- Ensure compliance of established security, sales, and recordkeeping procedures and practices, submitting monthly reports and charges to the Finance Office; and producing all monthly or annual reports as requested.
- Monitor register reports and make daily cash deposits for sales.
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Preference given to candidates with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in roles related to student life areas and/or retail.
- Must have an established record of excellent mentoring relationships with students, collegial relationships with staff and faculty.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills are also necessary.
- A strong and vibrant Christian faith that connects to the mission, vision, and values of the college is required.
