History Lecture on Germany and WWII
Published: April 2, 2013
The Donald A. Yerxa Lecture in History presents a lecture by Robert M. Citino, Ph.D. of the University of North Texas on “Chaos and Command: Germany and the Two-Front War, 1943” on April 18, 2013 at 7:00pm in the Ruth Cameron Auditorium. The talk will take the audience through a microhistory, a brief nine-day slice of the war in July 1943, seen from the perspective of the German high command. It is a time of crisis, with the battle of Kursk coming to a climax and the simultaneous landing of the Allies on Sicily. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Dr. Citino is a leading authority on modern German military history, with an emphasis upon World War II and the German influence upon modern operational doctrine. He is the author of several award winning books, including The Wehrmacht Retreats and Blitzkrieg to Desert Storm.
