Faculty and Staff Honored at Annual Dinner

On April 30, 2012, ENC Staff and Faculty gathered together in the Commons for the annual end-of-the-year Awards Dinner Celebration. Members of the community voted for their fellow co-workers to honor them for their service to the students and the institution.
Dr. Brian Massey of Psychology was honored for Teaching Excellence, an award which takes nominations from the ENC student body as well as fellow faculty members. Psychology professor Dr. Jan Lanham was honored for Professional Achievement and Dr. Bill Driscoll, Director of the Adult and Graduate Studies, was honored with an Administrative Faculty Award.
Staff members receiving the Exemplary Service Award were Jaime Milburn, Associate Registrar, Janet Calhoun in Accounts Payable, and Mike Johnston, from the Facilities Department.
Also honored at the dinner were staff and faculty members who have given 5, 10, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years of service:
5 Years: Janet Calhoun (Accounts Payable), Steve Hamilton (Athletics)
10 Years: Tammy Gough (Brickley Center), Jeffrey Barker (Religion and Philosophy), and Dr. Bill Malas (Religion and Philosophy)
15 Years: John Estey (Adult and Graduate Studies), Dr. Nancy Ross (Psychology), Margaret Ballard (Registrar), Dr. Karen Henck (English), and Amy Hwang (Library)
20 Years: Myrna Giberson (Finance), Susan Ramey (Marketing and Communications), Anke Thorne (Brickley Center), and Mike Holt (Business)
25 Years: Elva Jury (Administrative), Karl Vandervort (Adult and Graduate Studies)
35 Years: Dr. Don Yerxa (History, Emeritus)
40 Years: Dr. John Free (Physics and Engineering)
45 Years: Dr. Lowell Hall (Chemistry)
Finally, a “Travels With Charlie” award was given to Cheryl Stone, assistant in the Student Development Office, and Dr. Timothy Shetler, Associate Professor of Music. The award is from an endowment providing funds for a vacation to employees who have given numerous years of service to the college.
As the summer approaches, Eastern Nazarene College is proud to honor the individuals who dedicate their lives to the students and the institution.
