ENC Welcomes New Intercultural Studies Professor

We are delighted to announce that Julene Tegerstrand will be joining Eastern Nazarene College’s Division of Religion and Philosophy in a tenure-track appointment as the Assistant Professor of Intercultural Studies. Professor Tegerstrand will begin teaching this fall and take a leading role in the development of the Intercultural Studies major, which has the aim of preparing students for local and global cross-cultural Christian service. She brings a great depth of knowledge, passion, and expertise in this area.Along with serving on the faculty at Korea Nazarene University for four years and developing the student missions program and other initiatives as Director of Student Ministries at Northwest Nazarene University for seven years, she has a commitment to help students engage communities through a posture of listening, learning, and serving.
“I look forward to partnering with ENC staff and faculty in preparing students for a vocation of Christian service in a variety of cultural contexts,” Professor Tegerstrand says.
Professor Tegerstrand holds a Certificate in Spiritual Direction, a BA in Theology and Philosophy from Point Loma Nazarene University, an MDiv from Nazarene Theological Seminary, and is completing a PhD at Gonzaga University. She is ordained in the Church of the Nazarene and is excited to continue living out God’s call here on the Eastern field.
