ENC welcomed members of the Wollaston neighborhood to campus for the sixth-annual Neighborhood Appreciation Day. The event welcomes families who live near the college to the front lawn for an afternoon of face painting, pizza and desserts, and inflatable obstacle courses. Cartoon character Scooby Doo also made an appearance to the delight of many kids.
“We’ve come four or five years in a row,” said Huda Syed who attended with her two children, son Talha, 9, and daughter Myra, 8. “My kids love it! We live a couple of streets over and they get to come and have fun, and even see their school friends.”
Quincy businesses Buccinni’s and The Cake Spot donated pizzas and cupcakes for the event. The college hosts the event each year as a way to thank the community for their support throughout the academic year.
“It’s a great family event, especially for the kids!” said Syed.
