ENC names Dr. Scott Turcott Vice President for Institutional Advancement
Published: April 16, 2010
Eastern Nazarene College has named Dr. Scott D. Turcott Vice President of Institutional Advancement, President Corlis McGee announced.
In his new role, Turcott will oversee ENC’s development activities, including alumni relations, donor relations, community relations, and the college’s marketing and communications department. He succeeds Kendall Whittington, who recently announced his resignation as Vice President for Institutional Advancement for personal reasons.
“Dr. Turcott presents a unique blend of institutional understanding as an alum and academician combined with professional expertise in communication. He has a passion for God and for the potential of Eastern Nazarene College,” McGee said. “He brings with him a commitment and vision to expand on the broad base of institutional support cultivated by Kendall Whittington.”
A 1982 graduate of ENC, Turcott went on to receive both a master’s degree and Ed.D. in educational media and technology from Boston University. For the past 19 years, he has served as a professor of communication arts at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind. He is currently co-chair of the Communicating Common Ground interest group of the National Communication Association and has served as the chair of the Undergraduate Programs interest group of the Central States Communication Association. He has also been a critical reviewer for multiple texts and recently co-authored the book, Brief Guide to Extemporaneous Speaking.
“ENC has an excellent tradition of nurturing students in faith and scholarship.” Turcott said. “I am humbled and honored to have this tremendous opportunity and responsibility as I return to my alma mater.”
