ENC Launches Branding Campaign

More than 1,200 students return to classes this week at Eastern Nazarene College, as the Christian liberal arts institution launches a new branding campaign built around the slogan, “Discover your purpose.”

The most visible elements of the new campaign include a new student “viewbook,” brochures, postcards and a newly revamped college website featuring profiles of ENC students who “discovered their purpose” at the college. ENC President Corlis McGee said the new slogan and campaign are the results of a year-long process that began by surveying college staff, faculty, students and alumni.

“We wanted to learn what our core constituencies felt were the hallmarks of an Eastern Nazarene education,” McGee said. “From this research, we identified four themes that resonated across the ENC community: academic quality; the campus’s proximity to Boston; our caring, Christian community; and our commitment to developing global Christians.”

With these characteristics in mind, McGee said, college officials began brainstorming slogans that would capture Eastern Nazarene’s mission-oriented environment, eventually settling on “Discover your purpose.”

McGee said the new slogan is a good fit. “Eastern Nazarene is a place where students can expand their vision and discover new ways of making a positive impact on the world around them,” said McGee, noting that the new slogan soon will begin appearing in advertisements, on billboards and in other marketing materials. “Through this new campaign, we hope to share that message with prospective students who are seeking a college that will help them discover their own unique purpose.”
