ENC is pleased to welcome two new members to the Athletics Department: Bryan “BJ” Hampton, Sports Information Director and Assistant Baseball Coach and Leah Della Torre, Head Coach of the Women’s Softball team.
Hampton just finished his second season as assistant baseball coach for the Piedmont Lions in Demorest, GA, as well as serving as the Resident Director of Housing. While at Piedmont, Bryan assisted the Sports Information Director where he not only honed his website and writing skills but learned to utilize the Statcrew programs.
A 2008 graduate of Piedmont, Hampton was a 4-year member of the Lions’ baseball team, prior to taking the position of assistant coach. He is currently finishing his Master’s in Business Administration, while also assisting with various SID duties.
At ENC, he will work with Head Coach of the Men’s Baseball team, Matt Kutt, as the Lions’ seek to build upon this year’s successful season, which culminated in the Lions qualifying for the TCCC playoffs for the first time in 3 years.
Della Torre is currently assistant softball coach at Piedmont College after graduating Suma cum Laude and is currently finishing her Master’s in Managerial Leadership. A four year member of the Lions’ softball team, she was named to the GSAC All-Freshman team, as well as being a 4-time All-Academic team selection.
“I’m very excited about the challenges of being a first time head coach,” says Della Torre. “I am looking forward to working with the driven young women who are currently on the softball team, and hoping to recruit other young women who will be just as driven. I hope to teach each of them about the game of softball while helping them find out who they are as young Christian women.”
In addition to her coaching duties, Della Torre will teach Physical Education in the Movement Arts Department.
