Eastern Nazarene Recognized as a Best College by U.S. News & World Report

Published: September 27, 2019

U.S. News & World Report’s recent release of the 2020 Best College Report recognized Eastern Nazarene College as a Best College in two categories. Among Regional Colleges in the North Region, Eastern Nazarene is ranked #29. Schools are ranked based on performance in a number of indicators of excellence. Additionally, ENC received a rank of #16 in Social Mobility, which is a measure of advancing social mobility for its students.

Since 1900, Eastern Nazarene College has served students from varied backgrounds. Currently celebrating 100 years in its current location of Quincy, Massachusetts, Eastern Nazarene’s mission as a Christian College in the Wesleyan heritage is experienced by all members of the college community. With a location in the shadows of Boston and just blocks from the ocean, ENC provides educational opportunities in over 50 distinct academic programs.

As a member of the educational network of colleges and universities sponsored by the Church of the Nazarene, ENC joins the other seven four-year institutions in receiving recognition from U.S. News & World Report. A list of all eight schools and their rankings are as follows:

Eastern Nazarene College #29 in North-Regional Colleges
Trevecca Nazarene University #293-381 in National Universities
Point Loma Nazarene University #10 in West-Regional Universities
Northwest Nazarene University #43 in West-Regional Universities
Olivet Nazarene University #52 in Midwest-Regional Universities
Mount Vernon Nazarene University #66 in Midwest-Regional Universities
MidAmerica Nazarene University #92 in Midwest-Regional Universities
Southern Nazarene University #87-113 in West-Regional Universities

Additionally, Eastern Nazarene’s ranking among the eight schools of the New England Collegiate Conference was third highest of the conference. The significance of this strong showing supports the outcomes expressed in the Athletic Department’s core values of Faith, Academics, Competition, and Service.

Eastern Nazarene College continues to stand out as a faith-based, private college in the Northeast. With a student-centered approach to education in and out of the classroom, ENC offers many opportunities for growth. Spring break and summer mission trips, undergraduate research projects, and numerous internship opportunities in the Greater Boston area are just a few examples of the co-curricular experiences available to students. Third-party endorsements from organizations such as U.S. News & World Report provide valuable insights to prospective students and families in the college search process about the value of an Eastern Nazarene College educational experience.
