Eastern Nazarene College announced that James Sheets has joined the college as the Director of Adult, Graduate, and Online Admissions effective immediately. Sheets has returned to Eastern Nazarene College and Quincy after 23 years in adult and graduate education admissions at Roberts Wesleyan College, where he was responsible for developing and implementing recruitment plans for non-traditional undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. Sheets has also served as Acting Executive Director of Crossroads Youth Center and Youth Pastor for Trinity Church of the Nazarene in New York. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Eastern Nazarene College.
Born and raised in Quincy, Sheets has deep roots in the Quincy community. He and his wife, Stephanie (Lunden) Sheets, met at Eastern Nazarene College. The son of former Quincy Mayor, James Sheets, he described his return to the area, saying, “Excitement is the best word to describe how much I am looking forward to coming home and working for such a great institution that has been a big part of my life and the lives of my entire family.”
Brad Zarges, Vice President of Enrollment, commented on Sheets appointment saying, “I am thrilled that Jim has joined the Eastern Nazarene College community as Director of Adult, Graduate, and Online Admissions. His extensive experience serving adult and graduate student populations is perfect preparation for leading our efforts at Eastern Nazarene College. Jim’s coming home to the college extends throughout Quincy and the South Shore, where he will focus on recruiting students to our academic programs for traditional, adult, graduate, and soon to be launched, online programs.”
