Massachusetts Reopening: Phase I
On Monday, Governor Baker rolled out the Commonwealth’s four phase reopening plan. In Phase I, very little changes for those living and working on the ENC campus. What you will notice is increased signage on campus reminding the community to comply with social distancing and face covering requirements in the work place. Additionally, there will be notification posters articulating how we are complying with Phase I guidance. In this phase employees who can telecommute should continue to do so, to allow our essential on-campus employees plenty of space for social distancing.
The Emergency Response Team has reoriented its focus to developing a robust campus reopening plan that will align with the Commonwealth’s phased plan. More information on College specific plans will be forthcoming.
COVID-19 Student Relief Fund
The College has established a COVID-19 Student Emergency Relief Fund through the CARES Act to assist students with urgent financial needs related to the novel coronavirus. The intent is to assist ENC students who are experiencing temporary financial hardship related to the disruption of campus operations due to COVID-19. The funds are limited and not intended to provide ongoing relief.
Some examples of qualified expenses for emergency relief funding include:
- School supplies (textbooks, software, lab materials, etc.)
- Technology (internet access, computer, etc.)
- Housing (rent/utilities)
- Transportation expenses
- Unreimbursed medical bills
- Childcare expenses
Community Health Corner
In this crazy time, we can help prevent the spread of COVID-19. While you may have a love-hate relationship with your mask, when we each wear one we actively participate in helping keep each other healthy. When both people wear a face covering, we maximize lowering the risk of transmission. So, let’s do it for one another!
Campus Status Report
We are pleased to share that there were no new cases of COVID-19 reported this week from the ENC community! If new cases arise, community members that may have been in contact with an afflicted individual will be notified and will be in self-quarantine for the appropriate length of time.
We are grateful for how seriously our community has taken the guidance of the Emergency Response Team (ERT). Continued adherence to ERT, state, and federal guidance will help us reduce chances of infection and spreading the virus.
The College continues to maintain an active website with timely information related to COVID-19 and institutional response. This informative site can be found at: https://enc.edu/covid-19-information/
Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire ENC family across the world as we navigate these trying times. Above all we are grateful for a God who is present in our daily lives and who demonstrates how to love and live.
Blessings to you on behalf of the Emergency Response Team,
Vice President for Student Development and Campus Services
