Classes Online Until At Least March 30th

Mar 12, 2020

As the COVID-19 situation evolves locally and globally, ENC’s top priority is the safety, health and well-being of our community.  While we have not had any known cases on our campus, we cannot avoid its impact on our local area.  To that end, we find it necessary to take further steps.  The college will suspend in-person classes after Friday, March 13th through at least Monday, March 30th, moving instead to all online instruction beginning on Thursday, March 19th. This includes undergraduate, graduate, and adult studies classes.  Since it will take our faculty and IT Department time to prepare for the transition to online, classes will not be held from Monday, March 16th through Wednesday, March 18th.

Residential undergraduate students will be asked to move out of campus housing by Tuesday, March 17th at 5 PM. ENC is committed to working with students who may need to remain on campus for various reasons (e.g. International Students).  A special circumstances application will be forthcoming.  The College will remain open and provide essential services for these students, such as housing and meals while they engage in online coursework.  The Housing Office will communicate by email with all students by Friday morning to provide further instructions regarding checkout procedures or application to remain on campus.  Students should not leave campus without communicating with Residential Life staff regarding checkout procedures.

In addition, all events, including athletics, will be suspended on campus for at least the next two weeks. All administrative and staff offices will remain open until further notice.

We join many colleges and universities across the nation who are moving to online instruction during this global health situation. While we regret the disruption this creates in the lives of our students and their families, our highest priority remains the well-being and safety of every member of our community.  We are in the midst of an unprecedented and fluid situation that is changing rapidly. We will keep you updated as the situation evolves. Please visit this dedicated COVID-19 webpage regularly for updates.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work together to safeguard the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff.  Please feel free to send any questions to covid-19@enc.edu.
