Q: Why is this event being called a celebration?
With a deep heritage spanning 124 years, we have much to celebrate and many memories to recall. The Legacy Celebration is an opportunity to recognize and honor ENC’s impact on our lives and thank God for His hand upon this institution over the years.
Q: What is happening to the money collected for the dinner, lunch, and reunions?
As in past years, all money collected is going directly to the cost of the event. No profit will be realized, and no donations beyond those needed to cover expenses will be solicited.
Q: May I tour the campus while attending the Legacy Celebration?
You are welcome to take a self-guided tour of Gardner Hall, Nease Library, Angell Hall, Canterbury Hall, Lahue and most of Mann Student Center. With the exception of Munro and Shields, common areas of the dorms will be open. Shields, Munro, Cove, Young Apartments and the dugout area will not be open for tours because we have residents using these spaces. It is important to note that since we will not be fully operational you can expect to see fewer employees and students on campus, limited furnishings in many spaces, and less decorative touches.
Q: Will there be a guided or self-guided tour of the Babcock Arboretum?
We have printed guides for self-guided tours and have reached out to one of the founders of the Arboretum to learn if he will be on campus and be willing to take groups by some of his favorite plantings. More to come.
Q: Will there be memorabilia available during the event?
Absolutely. Lots of giveaways and some sale items.
