Digital Marketing & Content Specialist (Video, Photography, Web)


Eastern Nazarene College (ENC), a four-year Christian liberal arts college on Boston’s south shore,  has an immediate opening for a Digital Marketing & Content Specialist to source and create compelling content to enhance our brand, design, and communications strategy across all digital media channels.  You will demonstrate knowledge of Adobe premiere or other video editing software, experience with photography/Photoshop, experience with CMS, preferably WordPress, and will provide a link to your portfolio/digital samples of your work (student work accepted).

The Digital Marketing & Content Specialist will be our “resident storyteller”, supporting strategic messaging initiatives, enhancing the reputation and visibility of the College to drive enrollment and engage and build relationships with key stakeholders – including students, alumni, faculty, staff, professional community and the media.

Reporting to the Marketing Director, you will work closely with the Webmaster and Social Media Coordinators and in collaboration with Admissions, Institutional Advancement, IT, Athletics, and Academic Departments to create engaging new content and refresh existing content, including managing major photography and video initiatives and serving an important “street team” function to fill pipeline, capturing photography and video content throughout the campus, the community, and at college events.

  • Responsibilities:
        • Website Content Sourcing, Creation & Posting:
          • Sources and captures content through photography and video
          • Develops content for the ENC website to ensure a constant stream of timely, relevant, and engaging news that reflects the ENC mission, student experience, and academic programs
          • Tracks website traffic and user behavior and reports web analytics on a monthly basis, using appropriate analytics to ensure that content is driving traffic and engagement on the website
          • Serves as project manager for major web development initiatives
        • Coordination of Content with Social Media Coordinators:
          • Coordinates content needs across all ENC platforms with Social Media Coordinators, developing engaging content to attract prospective students and engage the greater ENC community
          • Tracks social media metrics to ensure content is driving traffic and engagement across all ENC social media platforms
        • Publications:
          • Works with Institutional Advancement and Graphic Designer on The Eastern Nazarene Magazine, a twice-yearly publication for the greater ENC community
        • Photography and video
          • Shoots and edits photography and video of the ENC community, programs and events to create high impact stories
          • Edits in-house and third-party video to create short promotional videos
          • Coordinates photography and video shoots with external vendors
        • Assists with ENC events and engages in collaborative relationships with community organizations to capture content and build community
  • Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English or a related subject
    • 2 years experience (can include internships) in a digital environment and with web content development experience, including experience shooting and editing photography and video (and comfort with camera and video camera)
    • Knowledge of web development tools, content management systems, content architecture, design, and production procedures – knowledge of WordPress preferred
    • Experience in a higher education environment a plus
    • Ability to stay up to date with evolving trends in digital storytelling and analytics
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, writing, copywriting, copyediting and proofreading skills
    • Career-focused and an ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
    • Excellent time and project management skills – must take initiative, be a self-starter and have the ability to work under pressure on multiple projects
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent technical skills – including proficiency including proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Premiere
